Objective

This project required the creation of a record cover for the artist Billy Lockett for his album Together At Home. The record cover design is to be inspired by artwork from the psychedelic era

Process

Beginning with sketches, I came up with 4 different layouts incorporating major motifs for the psychedelic era like funky tetris typography, bright colors, showstopping illustrations and so on.

I listened to the music from this album while working on this project and let the sounds guide my creative energy. Some of the challenges faced during this process were mostly associated with the typography. It was not easy to have the typography look psychedelic and remain legible at the same time. The other challenge was moving forward with just one concept.
